RAVLT and Cog Screen

In the FOCUSfactor trial, Dr Kay used the Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT), one of the most commonly used tests of memory in psychopharmacology research.

He also used CogScreen, a computer-administered neuropsychological test battery developed for the Federal Aviation Administration for evaluating the cognitive functioning of pilots and in clinical trials evaluating effects of treatments on cognitive functioning.

“The clinical study demonstrated that, compared to placebo, FOCUSfactor improved abilities referred to as memory, concentration, and focus in healthy adults,” he said.

“The most dramatic effects were seen on the initial learning trials of RAVLT and were confirmed by findings on the CogScreen measures of concentration and working memory.

He added: “Following six weeks of treatment, subjects who received FOCUSfactor had a mean increase in recall of 6.5 words compared to 4.5 words for those who received placebo.

“Subjects who received FOCUSfactor performed significantly better (p = 0.031) on a CogScreen measure of concentration / working memory than subjects who received placebo.”

  1. Hi Carol
Thanks for writing an unbiased review of Focus Factor-a supplement to boost memory power.
Most important is that the product is natural. I want to know certain things about this product. Is this a vegetarian Product? Is this FDA approved? Does this contain Gluten? Is this product GMO-free? Is this product made in the USA? Can the patients with epilepsy take this product?

    1. No, Focus Factor is not a vegetarian product, but, it does contain over 40 vitamins, minerals, and herbs that are extremely nutritional and helpful. It is FDA approved. Yes, Focus Factor Nutrition does contain Gluten, but, is not GMO free. Focus Factor is made in the USA and one with epilepsy can take it. Focus Factor repairs the brain and enhances loss of brain functions that we lose as we get older. I’m sorry I’m just now replying, but, I was out of town over the weekend. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I’m always happy to help.

  2. Hello, and thanks for sharing your post is well detailed. I myself have also written a post on the importance of feeding our brains with the right food because our brains should be taken really good care of. Focus factor seems to be very good but a little pricey but I believe what you are getting is still worth it.
